About Me
I am an ethnographer and indigenous rights researcher and filmmaker focusing on the stories of resilience of indigenous communities in India. I am especially interested in the role of mythology in socio-political resistance. I use the information gathered from my ethnographic research do guide my advocacy projects.
I have a background international human rights law from School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) London and investigative journalism from Asian College of Journalism and . I have previously worked as Reporter-at-Large in India covering instances of land-grabbing, forced displacement, internal armed conflict, and state/corporate-led abuses against marginalised communities. I have also been an Environmental Crime Resilience Fellow with Global Initiative Against Transnational Organised Crime.
I have worked on a collaborative advocacy project with Adivasi (indigenous) communities, grassroots and international NGO's. At present, I am working towards safeguarding intangible cultural heritage in Himachal Pradesh.
